I ordered a book from a member and waited for it to show. After about a month the details tab said it had gotten to my state and then went back to the other member's state.  By this time the book was reported lost in PBS's system. So I PM'd him and asked if he'd gotten the book back for some reason; yes, he said he had mixed up the wrappers, it came back,  and would send out the book to me again.  That was two weeks ago. I got a package today from the guy and it's not even the book I ordered. What's the right thing to do now? I haven't written him yet.

LOL. That really sucks though. Well, to answer your question, see this Help Item: I received a book I didn't request

One piece of advice you can give him is to stick the part of the shipping label that has the book title and shipping address into the book. Not only does this help to keep the shipping label with the right book, but it also helps in case the shipping label happens to get destroyed. If the book winds up at the dead letter office, having the address inside the package will ensure that it goes to its destination.

well, hmmmmm....I really don't think I'd mark it RWAP-wrong book but, that is an option...but, is that an option when marking a Lost book received?  I know I'd definitely PM the guy and see what he wants you to do....because if he messed yours up he's messed someone elses up also....

that is a tough one...

I can't figure out why the book would go back to him if he mixed up the wrappers. It sounds like you received the book of the member that received yours. The only thing I can think of is he had the other member mail your book back to him.

This happened to me several times on PBS. The member who mixed up the books either buddied me a credit or paid the postage for me to mail the book to the correct member. Then the member who received my book did the same. It always worked out.
