I have perused several people's bookshelf and seen numerous books by different authors with the word "Blaze" on the book.  What's up with that?  What does it mean?

I think it may be a Harlequin brand/series?

Blaze books are usually pretty steamy. :) From HQN's site: "Can you handle the heat? Harlequin Blaze books are steamy, flirtatious and fun! These stories tell it like it is, inside and outside the bedroom.

They are the more graphic of the little series romances.  Not quite as graphic as an ellorascave book-but more sex than a normal little category romance.

I've only read a few, which seemed like ordinary Harlequins (really innocent heroines) but with sex toys added. But they seem to vary a lot.

yeah there's been a couple of Blaze's where I was wondering why they put in the Blaze line because there was no sex-or maybe one vanilla scene.  But for the most part they are more graphic then regular series romances.  Well I assume they are as rarely read any of the others.

Do they still have the Blaze Extreme ones?  I read one of those adn the heroine had a 3some (m/f/m) fantasy but she's backed out at the last minute. So the book built up that they were going to do this and while she's got 2 hot guys there naked she decides she doesn't want to go through with it.

Some of the Spice Briefs are pretty steamy. They are pretty short, though (hence the "brief"). I only read a few and avoid them now for the same reason I don't usually like stories in anthologies--not enough story for me--I prefer a whole book.

I haven't read many of the newer Blaze titles. Some just seem to have really ridiculous plots. But there are a few of the earlier titles that are definitely on my keeper shelf.

Take Me by Cherry Adair

Daring in the Dark by Jennifer LaBrecque

The Sweetest Taboo by Alison Kent

Truth or Dare by Jo Leigh

Acting on Impulse by Vicki Lewis Thompson

Whisper by Nancy Warren

A Stranger's Touch by Tori Carrington

I thought Shadowhawk was pretty hot - esp the cover! I like Rhonda Nelson and Vicki Lewis Thompson's older stuff too.

...dont' think I've read one with a virgin heroine either.

I find the 30 year old virgin annoying.  I mean, what are the chances of that happening and the heroine still being someone the guy would want to get involved with.  The other thing that annoys me about romances is that the women are always beautiful and the guys are always handsome and buff.  Are there no normal people out there in the world of romance?

Yep , the Blaze books are Harlequin steamy  ones.

I think it was you Kate , who asked about "Whats up with Vampire books ...?  The Blaze has some that are Vampire ones by Kimberly Raye , those are the first Vampire ones I've ever read . Althought , I'm still not 100% Vampire lover , I really enjoyed them as a stepping stone to more erotic ones.

Another Blaze author that has some Vampire ones is.   Crystal Green
