After only one request in a month, I suddenly have had 4 book requests in 2 days' time.  I typically get a month every few months where I get only one request, but never this sudden slew of requests. I just had my one year anniversary as a member.

Anyone a behaviorist like me and wonder about trends like this???    That is, do you all see certain seasons or weeks of the month where more or

fewer requests are made?

It seems to come in spurts.  Weeks with no activity and then several orders in a few days.  Same with WL.  No WL offer for wks and then 10 in month.

I had no activity for about 6 months last year. Then January comes and I have several requests come in as well as several WL books hit #1. I think it was mostly coincidence. Or maybe not...maybe the fates lined up so I'd have book requests first so I'd then have the credits for those other books I wanted. cheeky

Really, though, I think it mostly has to do with the fact that you just happened to come to the front of the FIFO line for the books you'd posted way back when. Be glad they're all at once so you can make one trip to the post office instead of getting them so that you end up going once a week. I hate when that happens. I only like to go to the post office every couple weeks if that.

I believe this is the reason too. I tend to post mostly WL books so I don't get many orders from my shelf but the other day I had 4 requests from books I posted like a year ago...of course, I haven't gotten any new requests since...:)

Could be an influx of new members. Articles like this probably bring many new members in large numbers.

I just posted 31 books last week and 15 of them were requested.  I'm not complaining, but I have spent a lot of time (and postage money!) at the post office on my lunch hours this week.  Maybe I just like to read what everyone else wants to read?

I post mostly WL books as well.  But the last 2 were apparently no longer wanted.  So they are just sitting there with the rest of the shelf.

Carla, it sounds as if you posted a pile of wish list books.  I'm sure you made some people happy!

It's really in spurts for me - 5 books mailed last Saturday and 4 going out tomorrow. Best week for me in ages. I tend to post books with few books in the system, though, so this might be a help.

I usually go in spurts, too. But this past week I had 8 in 2 days.
