Or will it? I am waiting on a book that says it must be mailed by 11 pm on 6/21 which has gone by. I read the help docs and I am more confused than ever. It sounds like they don't have to mark the book mailed until 48 hours after the mail by date. Why not just make that the mail by date? Or do I have this totally wrong?

Thanks for clarification.

Nope you have it right.  The person has 48 hours to mark the book mailed after the mail by date.

They could, mind, could have mailed it and not marked it mailed.  PBS will send them an e-mail asking them if they've mailed it and if so mark it mailed.

Also, if they don't mark it mailed just a little FYI if it gets cancelled it'll be at 3 in the morning so it could be a bit more than the 48 hours, big sigh when you're waiting.

I can wait for a book to arrive in my mailbox easier than waiting for someone to accept or for someone to mail.  I want you to mail it NOW!...lol.

Probably 48 hours after.  At least your sender is honest about not sending yet.  It's really frustrating to receive a book that was incorrectly marked mailed and you wait and wait and wait.  Then you finally receive it just before the 'gone lost' date and the USPS applied postage says the book was mailed 2 days ago.

There is a hard deadline tho, and after that time your request will roll over to the next member offering your book and the first member will be SOL and loose their chance to earn a credit.  Even if the first member mails the book anyway, they will not receive credit after your request is offered to the next member.

But we're told patience is a virtue and RL happens, so hopefully your book will be on it's way very soon!
