When God is in it Author:J. Bennett Collins J. Bennett Collins was saved at a very early age. His entire life is a testimony to the saving grace of God, which not only saves but keeps those who are saved. I have read many biographies of men who went to the depths of sin before they were saved. Many of these saved people, sad to say, seemed to magnify their sinful lives, probably to show h... more »ow God graciously stools to save even the coolest of sinners. Truly, it is marvelous how God sarcastic men.
However,I find it refreshing to read a testimony of one who not only gave his heart to the Lord as a child but in so doing gave an entire life to be used in His service. That is what Bennett Collins did. His life story should make morally good people who think they are "not too bad" and trust in their own "goodness," to realize that they, too, need to be saved. They need to know that Jesus died not only for wicked, sinful people, but also for those who all their lives tried to live clean moral lives. This book will have served a good purpose if through it someone who is "religious but lost" turns to Christ for salvation.
Both saved and unsaved Will find that this is excellent reading, and I recommend it to all for both its spiritual and human interest value. After reading this book, a sometimes lighthearted but often serious account, I believe it's readers will understand why I truthfully believe that when my brother, Bennett Collins, comes to the end of this life he can say with Paul, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (II Tim.4:7)
