Can love be a lifetime away?

Waking up after an accident, the last thing Susan Butler remembered was living in the 1990's,happily married and joyously expecting her first child. Now,suddenly, inexplicably, she is Margaret Johnsbury, the year is 1888, and she is about to find out she is detested not only by her handsome husband, Carter, but by the entire town of Newport.
Learning to live in 19th century Newport's rigid Victorian society is only the first of "Maggies" challenges. Far more difficult is winning the trust of Carter, the sexy, volatile stranger who so grudgingly shares her home. But just when it seems Maggie will regain all the joy she possessed in her old life, a devastating secret surfaces to shatter her world to pieces. Now she must fight, not only for the heart of the man she has fallen desperately in love with, but for her very life.

This is an EXCELLENT book, very emotional. Susan dies in a terrible car accident, and comes back to life in 1888 as the truly hatefull Margaret Johnsbury. As Maggie, she must overcome all the evil and malicious actions of Margaret, and earn the trust and love of all around her, including her husband

Beautiful time-travel romance set in Victorian-era Newport, RI. I was swept away by the strong emotions of Maggie and Carter and their impossible wreck of a marriage. Maggie truly had a task on her hands to win Carter over again, and many times I just didn't think she could pull it off. Maggie's transfer from her present into her new life in the past along with her subsequent adjustment was fascinating and realistic. Carter was a man pushed beyond his limits, and I ached for him as he experienced his own torment. Wonderfully done and thoroughly romantic; I absolutely loved it! Brava, Ms. Goodger! 5 stars!

Jane Goodger managed to write such a lovely book. She told such a heart felt story of a woman being given an extra chance at life for herself and her unborn child. If you like a romance with a "time travel" type of a twist you will definitely enjoy this book.
