I am used to emotional responses to books, like laughter, sadness, anger, frustration and joy (who doesn't like a happy ending?). But never before have I had a visceral reaction to a book as I did to 'When Mountains Move'; by Julie Cantrell. The very opening is of a young woman having a nightmare, reliving a recent rape. It felt like a fist was pressing into my diaphragm, and I could not get enough breath. Needless to say, I did not read the book. Even though it had good reviews, I could not continue with it. It ruined my day.

One of the best books I've read in a long time. Millie is striving to make the most of the life she chose at a young age of 17, all the while haunted by circumstances created beyond her control. The characters come together as a whole in desperate times & betrayal is revealed that will shape the future.
Julie Cantrell is an amazing young author! She will draw you in & give you a beautiful story that makes you want to keep reading until the very last word!
