I have mailed out some book club books and they had the words "book club" on them, or maybe "blah blah blah edition" on them. You don't need to worry about that, though. Just put in the ISBN number exactly like how it is on the back of the book, and it should post to the system correctly. :-)

Often the book club edition ISBN is the same as the regular hard back.  It is easy to tell if you are posting them - they normally have Book Club Edition somewher on them.  It is almost impossible to tell when you are ordering.   If someone does NOT want one, they need to have RC's about it.

Bertie--

Sometimes it is hard to tell if you have a book club edition or not.  Here is a page which shows some things to look for: http://www.mywingsbooks.com/coll-terms/bce_.shtml

Cheers,

Catt

I have a few BCE's here and they don't say it anywhere that I can see. But they're a bit smaller than a standard hardcover.  You don't need to worry about it unless you get an RC asking for no BCE's.  If you do get one and you just can't tell-it's ok to turn it down.

The smaller size, lack of price on the inside cover, and those little white boxes with the 5 numbers on the back shown on Catt's link are the most common that I see.

When I specify that I don't want a BCE, I always just say look for the price on the inside cover. Usually if the price IS there, the bookclub is issuing the same book that is being sold in the main stream market.
