I just purchased about 10 books from the same seller at the same time..

Is it reasonsable to ask for some credit because of the obvious postage savings when shipping a combined purchase?  Is there any policy on this, or precedence?

People do sometimes ask for deals in situations like this, but those things are best hashed out prior to ordering, IMHO. You could still ask, but they are under no obligation to accept.

Be prepared for any kind of response. The number of members who use the forums is small compared to the number of members on the site. Many people who don't use the forums may not know others do deal. I've seen people ask non-forum members for deals. Sometimes they get a positive response, sometimes a negative. I agree with Liesl on this though. You should try and contact the person before you order anything.

If you ask nice, they might. But they're under no obligation to do so, and there's no unwritten law that they should.

I'd give you a deal.   :)

I would go ahead and ask, the worse they can do is decline the offer, right?

I'd definitely ask before ordering next time, though- you're probably more likely to get a deal that way rather than a member actually returning credits... especially if they're not familiar with book deals.

Out of the blue, I received an order for 9 books from my shelf.  I pm'd the other member and asked if she wanted any freebies from my unpostable list or a pick from some wishlisted books I haven't posted FIFO yet.  No answer so far and I want to mail this afternoon, think I'll refund a credit or two...b/c yes the postage savings will be noticable  cheeky

Doesn't hurt to ask Bob.
