I recently printed my first 2 labels with the quick credit delivery confirmation without postage. I mailed them from my local post office, then checked the delivery confirmation when I got home. After a few hours it didn't show up as scanned. So I called the po (it's a VERY small po). The girl said they can't scan them accepted anymore because they're media mail, and they downloaded a new program into the scanners, and media mail isn't an option to accept. I know she knows her stuff, so when do you get the credit now? Not until it arrives? I've kept checking the tracking number, and it's been scanned that it's been processed through sort facilities, but I still haven't received the quick credits. Can anyone tell me how this works, since the new download? The new download happened Tuesday or Wednesday, the 18th or 19th...
Thanks for any info:) |

Carrie, depends on your postage. PBS postage and DC should transfer credits when you mark the books mailed. PBS DC with counter postage, will be scanned as part of the purchase transaction. When USPS downloads and the info is picked up by PBS (usually late that same night), your credits will transfer at that time. PBS DC with stamps or other postage, will transfer after the first enroute scan (or upon delivery if not scanned enroute). Did you mark the books as mailed? If they are not marked mailed, the credits will not transfer. Double check your credit archive, sometimes they sneak in and we don't notice. If the DC is showing an enroute scan but did not trigger the credit transfer you should contact TPTB (Contact Us option at the bottom of this page). ETA - packages with postage other than counter postage will probably not be scanned at your local PO, as it is considered unnecessary and time consuming. We've been told that USPS actively discourages gratitutious scans. Last Edited on: 1/21/11 11:44 PM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

If you see "Processed through Sort Facility" at www.usps.com, then that record should get downloaded by PBS the next time they get a batch of data from USPS. I believe that's either every four hours or every six hours, and you'll get the Quick Credit as soon as the downloaded file is processed (as long as you've marked the book mailed). If it's been more than 8 hours since you saw the record at www.usps.com and it doesn't show up here when you click on the Details button on the transaction on your My Account page, then it's a good idea to contact PBS and ask for help. The Contact Us link is at the bottom of the page. |

Did you just drop them at the PO with postage applied? I do believe they have changed their system and can no longer scan DCs that they are not charging for. The news I saw never mentioned media mail tho, so maybe your clerk is half right? If they are computerized, they have no option but to scan the DC if you are paying at the counter, otherwise they have no way to charge the 0.19 for eDC. If you are not paying for the DC at the counter you will need to wait for a Quick Credit along the way if it goes through a sorting center or at the Delivery scan. If they do scan when you pay, I would not expect it to be in PBS until the next day. Most post offices only upload their stuff once a day its not instantly available to PBS. |

Thanks! Quick credit showed up last night at 11:00. I mailed them Wednesday. My post office is small, and uses stamps instead of printed postage. I marked it mailed Wednesday morning. It's all good now:) Just wasn't sure if I did something wrong:) |
