I have always been curious about this...

Do you check the member's bookshelf after requesting a book? I am always surprised that I don't get more multiple book orders, considering I have a large bookshelf (300+) with a large variety of books.

Whenever I request a book from a member I always always look at their bookshelf to see if there is anything else I might be interested in -- and I have found and read some really great books that I had never heard of but really enjoyed.

Now that money is tighter, I am always glad to be able to mail 2 (or more) books, often for the price of 1. And having said that, I sometimes feel greedy when I might order 4 or 5 books from one member! How do you all feel about this?

And how many of you do consider ordering more than 1 book from a member?

Yes most times I do. Especially if my book is part of a series. I'd rather have the books coming from one place and it helps them to save on postage to.

It's not often that I do order more then one but I still like to check out the member’s shelf. Sometimes I'll even send a buddy request if we have the same taste so I can keep an eye out on their shelf for future orders.

Yup, always look.

One thing I wish was, when I click "Order more from member", that it would allow me to sort by Author. When a member has over 200 books on their shelf, ordering by Title is harder for me.

I usually check because you never know what you might find!

Debbie, I agree 100% with you -- I would LOVE to be able to sort by author! I am always afraid I am missing something!

I look if I'm ordering a series book to start with, or I'm looking for other series books. Other than that, I don't usually look.

I usually check it out.  Sometimes someone will have a deal offer in their profile or on their bookshelf header.

Mostly I don't. My wishlist does most of my PBS shopping for me these days, and it's all on autorequest, so often by the time I note that I have a book from the WL, the person has accepted and printed already so that even if I *wanted* to look, it wouldn't benefit the sender at all because the "order more from member" button is gone and it would end up as two separate orders rather than a bulk (postage-saving) order.

Also, my TBR shelf is already huge (500+) and the books I really want are on my wishlist (or reminder list in the case of series books I will need soon that are already in the system.)....I only order one or two series books ahead of where I am so even if the member had a whole 10-book series I wouldn't be wanting them all at once. I've had too many series "go south" after a few books to get that many in advance.

I always look, but seldom find anything else. Although there was the time I went looking for an entire series, and ended up ordering all 7 from one person (I'll bet she was happy with me!).

Only if I'm already looking for more books. Like a series or a particular author. And if the bookshelf is huge, I may just back out and not bother. Yes, it saves the other person postage and probably makes them happy. Hey it would make me happy, but I'm doing this for me and if it isn't making it easier for me, I'm not going to do it.

I will usually look but if there's more than 200 books on their bookshelf, I won't look at them all.  Maybe a page or two of them.

I am kind of like Sarah on this...I'll glance but, if there are multiple pages of books I'll look at maybe the first couple pages...I'm not real interested in wading through over 100 books or so...

I usually do and also if I send a WL book out to someone I'll look at their site also.  Never know what I might find that I can't live without.  Like most of the others though, if there are too many pages, I'll check a couple but not the whole list unless I find something I like.  LOL.  Pat

I look, but to get me to get another book it has to be something I really wanted. So I haven't ordered a 2nd one very often.

Usually I do look IF I have an extra credit to spare.  Mostly I like to just see what others  are reading since they had read something I wanted too.

Sadly I have yet to find  a book I want from a book shelf, most of what I want is WL but I will soon just random order a book to try something new.

Yes - I acutally ordered two from a member yesterday.  She had books 4 & 5 in one of the series I read.  I also look to see if there's any books my hubby might like.

I've gotten into the habit of always looking. Most of the time I don't find anything else I want. But it can't hurt to look, even if their bookshelf is five or six pages.

Always - you never know!

I have ordered multiple books from a member about 3-4 times now.  I have been lucky enough to have a few mulitple orders from me too. I agree about sorting by author - this would be so much help!

Always!  Other people's bookshelves are almost like walking into a bookstore for me - you never know what you'll find!  And I do love walking into bookstores!!!

Absolutely -- and their wish list as well.  However, I usually don't make it past the first page or two.  :-)

No one's going to have one of my WL'd book, or it wouldn't be WL'd! lol.

Ah!  Not so!  :-D

I have only a fraction of my books posted, and I keep an eye out for familiar titles when I'm shopping.  Lately my library, for some reason, has had *new* books for sale on an out-of-the-way shelf and I found several WL books there last week.

Just last night I ordered a book, checked that lady's wish list and found that I have several in my TBR pile that's she's looking for, so I moved them to the top of the pile.  Unfortunately, I also found some really neet books she had listed on her WL that *I* want now, too!  LOL!  But she doesn't have to worry -- I'll be *way* behind her.  :-D
