I know a lot of charities don't want to take stuffed toys anymore because of various sanitary concerns, but my middle school aged daughter was cleaning her room, has tons of stuffed toys she no longer wants, and I hate to throw them away. Any suggestions on where I could possibly send them/take them. They're clean and in fairly good condition. |

My 4 almost 5 year old Godchild collects bears year round for Santa. She is in Richmond, VA. I know she also collects other stuffed toys but she focuses on bears. If interested Message me and I can give you Her website. |

We donate ours to the police dept. When they go on a call that involves a child, they give the child a stuffed animal for comfort and they also use them to give out at community events that the police are involved in. |

When we moved I donated about 150 beanie babies to the police department. You can also put together "Operation Christmas Child" shoeboxes with stuffies, toys, toiletries, etc. Google "Operation Christmas Child" or Samaritans Purse. |

Check your phone book to see if there is a Deseret Industries in your area. They still take stuffed animals, many of which get cleaned and sent to third world countries. They tie ribbon bows around the necks of the stuffed animals so the little girls who recieve them can get a new toy and a ribbon for their hair at the same time. The Police Station (previously mentioned) is a great idea as well. My cousin did that for his Eagle Scout project. |

I collect them and take them to the local nursing home. They have the high temp machines to sanitize them and many of the patients with dementia or alzheimers find them calming. Also residents can win them during bingo games and then give them to a grandchild. |
