I was given a copy of this book from the publishers via NetGalley, in return for an honest review.

"This is Where it Ends" has left me feeling a bit ambivalent. We spend just under an hour (detailed to the minute) with various students of Opportunity High, getting to know them, hearing what is happening from their different viewpoints. We also learn how they have all interacted with the shooter, and learn why they each feel at blame for what has happened.

It was kind of interesting to see a shooter who was an antagonizer. Statistically speaking, most school shooters are people who have been bullied at great length and just finally hit their breaking point. But in this book, the shooter was someone who seemed to be the one who started all the fights. He doesn't seem to fit the typical mold, which is where I start to feel lost. He clearly had a break from reality after the death of his mom, but I just didn't buy into him killing everyone over what he perceived was done to him, the wrongs that people made. I know that there is no rationalizing a school shooting, or what goes through a shooters mind, but I do need for a story that I'm reading to make sense.

Overall, this was a quick read, one that kept me engaged, but it was just ok.
