Have a question for the tour guide "live help" but that option doesn't seem to be available right now?

Tour Guides are all volunteer positions, so they may be at their jobs or taking kidlets to school, etc.

Feel free to post your question here and some of us can try to answer it for you, send it to the team via the Contact Us link, or check back in a bit to see if a TG is available.

Rob, I did...Ha!!

OK, question - I requested 3 wish listed books from the wish multiple thread. They were marked mailed January 21 (PBS printable postage).

I'm receiving the auto e-mails if I've received them yet. According to the details description, all the post office received was the electronic shipping info - no package.

Have these been mailed or not?

Thanks, Sandy

I see the Tour Guides were online when I checked at 9:00.

Since I've retired, I'm not a very good clock watcher. I meant no insult to the guides, I truly thought that it had been turned off while all the other stuff is going on with the site.

I need another cup of coffee...

HI Sandra,

The Tour Guide Live Help rotates us, I could be on for an hour and not see my name in the Live Help then go back two minutes later and there I am. I don't have any real explanation as to why. I do know when major gliches occur, None of our names show up.

You are almost at the deadline of receiving your books. PBS  will mark the books "Lost" after 26 days. This message is to remind you to look in your mailbox, front door or table to see if you have received the book yet...and to please mark them as such. You will get a few more of these as the due date comes closer.

Depending on where you live and where the books are coming from, weather could be playing a factor with the delay.

If your My Account page is showing that they were mailed on the 21st of Jan, they probably were...Just delay in mail.

With the horrible weather the east is having your books may go Lost, when they arrive, please mark them received via your Transaction Archive.

ETA: If you can see the actual Tracking number, go to USPS.com and punch that number in...it should show where the package is...If not, then the package hasn't been scanned into the USPS system yet.

Maria,

Thank You soooooo much for your reply. And I have noticed some weird things lately.

I just thought it was odd that there were no other details after the receipt of the shipping info. It's a long way to Ohio from Alaska...no scans...WOW!

Oh well, the USPS is undergoing a lot of its own changes.

Thanks again...Sandy

Sandra it could be a problem with usps too.  I mailed 5 packages on friday watched them get acceptance scanned only three packages do pbs and upsp agree on.  One of those shows no acceptance only info being sent like you stated, even though I watched it get scanned. The fourth package pbs and usps have conflicting data on, and for the 5th pbs says it was accepted usps says not found.  Ohio to Alaska is a far trip. Also with the change in tracking I'm also wondering do packages have to be tracked along the way or only scanned when delivered?

Delivery confirmation is and always has been confirmation of delivery.  From my experience some packages only get the delivery scan others get scanned at every location they pass through or some combination of that.

Delivery Confirmation is now called Tracking and it is supposed to get regular updates. Usually it does but not always. Most likely, the person never mailed your book, but there is no way to know for sure, it is definitely _possible_ they got mailed and maybe the bar code printed poorly or got damaged enroute or maybe the computers are just being wonky.
