Hi, after waiting in line at the PO with ONE postal person for a line out the door, I decided not to mail anymore books until after Xmas. I checked all my books on my bookshelf and click the "Hold" button on the page. But where's the "Unhold" button? I've gotten into trouble before with this. If you check the books and then click "Post," it posts them in but you lose the place in line you were before. For example, if you've had a book on your bookshelf for 2 years, it puts you back at the back of the line, even if your book was the next copy to be requested. So how do I get around this? It won't be terrible if I don't, but I'd like to not have to start over. I already know about "Vacation Hold," but I WANT to receive WL offers and enjoy getting those emails, so I did not want to do the auto-WL thing. Thank you in advance.

I believe it is too late. When you put books from your bookshelf on individual hold (which is what you did) ... they are unposted. So, you are already out of the FIFO line.

If you want to maintain your position in the FIFO line, you need to do Vacation Hold, and just put the WL books that you might be offered on auto. Or wait till after Christmas to receive the offers.

The only thing you could do now is contact PBS and perhaps they can fix it for you. I don't think you can fix it yourself.

Sara is right.  If you used the hold button on your bookshelf instead of vacation hold, all those books have been taken out of FIFO.  There is no "unhold" button because when you want to post them again, you use the "post" button.
