I am new, but I am making use of all the lists so far.  BIR is probably the least useful since I keep a log of all books I finish elsewhere.  I do not use tags.  I check my account quite often...I'll keep PBS open in another window when I'm doing other stuff online.

TBR, Wish and Reminder.  I have books on my BIR list but they are the ones that I have moved from my TBR list.  I haven't added other books.  I use goodreads.com for that

I use the Reminder List most of all. As far as the website, I always keep a PBS window open.

Wish.

I used to use reminder but I took everything off of it (ordered what was available or wl what wasn't) when I heard of the upcoming wish list changes. I just wanted to make things easier for myself.

I neglect my TBR and BIR lists. I don't personally see a need for the information and never really thought anyone else was particular interested in viewing those lists of mine.

Just Wish and Reminder.  Never used tags, BIR, or TBR.

I use Wish, mostly, and Reminder occasionally.  Still figuring out which lists I'll keep updated.  Like Leslie S, I use Goodreads.com to keep my TBR and BIR lists, and am very happy with it.

I use WL, TBR, BIR, and from time to time, Reminder.

I routinely back my lists up as I never know when I could lose any or all of them.

I use them all.  I llike having the RL/BIR and TBR lists for when I'm perusing shelves for deals or BOB trades.  I had a BOB offer yesterday.  I looked up her regular shelf (the BOB shelf doesn't show those lists unless you click on a description) and found 3 of my RLS on there and was able to make her a counter offer right away.

I need the TBR/BIR because I frequently rebuy books I've already read or own..  I've been going through my RL this week and I've found several that I own already but forgot to put on my TBR.

I use the Wish, Reminder and TBR daily. I use my BIR less, and I don't use Tags.   I check my account WAY too often, and usually just leave a PBS window open while I do other things :)

I use WL and RL  frequently.  I use Reminder List the most.  I don't ever utilize TBR at this point in time, and have just started using Goodreads so I will be using that for my TBR and BIR, especially since BIR isn't yet working right because of the update.  How many times do I have to rate a book before it will let me put it on my BIR list?

I'm on PBS all day weekdays, sporadically if at all on weekends.  I've tagged many THOUSANDS of tags.   (LOL check out the "manga" tag)  I love tags, can't wait till these are fully functioning/searchable.

I have not been able to add any books to BIR unless I go directly to my BIR page and add it from there.  My dropdown menu on book details page BIR link is not working; no matter how many times I rate a book, and even write a review for it, it won't add it to my BIR list and just continues asking me to rate it before it will add it and thus never adds it.

Is anyone else having these BIR troubles?

oh yeah, I use tags too but only for where they are in a series of books.  This way I can figure out what book I need next

  • Wish
  • Reminder
  • TBR (to be read)
  • BIR (books i've read)

Do you use TAGS?

How often do you check your account at PBS?

I sometimes use the wish list, but I usually am not looking for any specific book to read.  I had 2 books on my WL a few weeks ago-- one that I expected to get sometime and one that I figured would never be posted.  The first was offered to me a couple weeks ago and has arrived; the second was just posted today, so hopefully I'll be getting it soon!  So now my list is empty.

I use the reminder list to check on the number of copies of the books I have.  If there are more than 10 or 20, I generally don't bother trying to save the book for posting.  I put it in my "read while traveling and discard there" pile.  When my pile of PBS posted books gets tall enough to start falling over, I check to make sure none of the books I have listed are super common ones on PBS.  If they are, they go in my yard sale/giveaway pile.

I don't use the TBR or BIR lists.  Most of my books are not received from PBS, so the TBR list seems a bit useless for my purposes.  I grab a book off the shelves when I need something to read, and some books I have on the shelves may never get read.  That's just the way it is.  I have no desire to go list all the books I have that may be read some day or try to remember those that I have read.  I'm sure they are both useful for some people, however.

I do not use tags and find that most of them are more annoying than useful.  Perhaps the new changes will make them a bit more helpful instead of mostly being people's personal codes for the books on their shelves.

When I'm not on vacation hold, I generally log on several times a day.  I log on to read the forums, but I access that from my member page so that I can check that on my way to the forums.  Otherwise I'm sure I'd forget.

I use the Wish List most of all, occasionally I will use the TBR list if I am looking to read something that is WL so that I can post right away.   I have books on my reminder list, but only use that when I am perusing the bazaar for books I want if the deal is good.  Lastly I use the BIR least of all, on occasion I might think I want to keep a book, then change my mind to post, I then go there and just click post this book rather than putting in all that info.

I use do use tags, mostly to keep track of where I am in the WL queue, it helps to know the last time I checked I was #36 in line and today I am number 30.  On occasion I've listed other things, I was tempted to use it for personal info, like when I read a book, or if it was on my keeper shelf etc... but I thought they eventually might put a stop to all that so I never did.  Seems I was right.  I do like tags though, I wish they would institute a personal version so you could keep note of those things, including condition of your copy and where you got it from, stuff that is really useful, but not necessary for to share with everyone else.

I log into PBS every day, and am on several times to check forums mostly, but to look at what's new or look up a recommended book.  I always respond to granted wishes and requests right away.    Exceptions to this are family emergencies, vacations, illness, or hurricane.  Like this comming monday my mother is going in for hip replacement, I doubt I'll be on, if at all maybe right before bed to check for requests.

I use them all, except the BIR is useless now becasue they removed the dates, so I guess I'll have to use another site for that. And I check in compulsively!!

I never had a use for tags until I started getting books in a kind of series and was like, hey I can tag this! lol.

I check PBS several times a day, I cant help it lol. Its just there waiting all the time  :D

I use every single list and tags too!! Maybe it's my age - I can't remember s.. er, stuff. I also use bookpedia and shelfari to keep track of everything. I make sure all of them match. I like to use Shelfari because other people can see the BIR and I can compare mine to theirs, and find people with similar tastes to chat with and get recommendations. I like to use bookpedia because I can sort so many ways and export lists to my ipod to take with me to the store. I enter every book I buy, pick up, borrow, get through PBS, wherever, on all 3.

When I do this - add books I've bought, etc to my TBR list - I can immediately see if it's wishlisted, and then I can read it next and post it!

I use the reminder list to see how many copies are available and also for books I'm considering but don't want yet.

I use the Wish List for books I want that aren't yet available on PBS. If the wait is long enough, I just keep checking back - sometimes I might end up buying it anyway, then I know I can turn it around fast for a credit anyway.

I use tags different ways - 1, I tag stuff I've posted because I also list stuff I've posted in the reminder list so I can see how many other copies there are. If there are a bunch, it may be a while before anyone wants it, if ever, so I might find another way of getting rid of it. 2, I also sometimes note where I am on a wish list to see how fast the books are getting posted and sent out. and 3, I like that others tag series, so I click on others tags to get a list of other books in the series. But I don't tag series myself, since others already have.

I probably check PBS 10 times a day when I'm home. I sure wish the forum software was a lot more user friendly - like invision or vbulletin, because I like discussing books but find it nearly impossible to keep up with threads on this forum - it doesn't mark which threads have new messages since your last visit, and it never goes to the most recent post since your last visit.

I use TBR, Wish and Reminder Lists. Occasionally I'll check the Transaction Archive. Very rarely will look at my buddy list if I need to PM someone. That's about it. I do not use Tags, do not read reviews, do not use FABIL or anything else.

I normally check my account at least twice a day--morning and evening, and sometimes if work's not busy I also check in during the day a few times too. Weekends I often have a PBS window open in the background all the time, but I'm really not here that much! :)

I use the WL and TBR lists.  Occasionally the Reminder list but only if I want to know how many of a book is in the system.

I don't do tags, haven't ever seen the point of them and PBS can have my BIR list, I don't know how I got anything on there anyway since I don't use it.  I'm not going to take the time to rate the books on there or delete them from there.

I try and check in in the morning before I go to work but I don't always have time.  I'm usually on in the evenings.

WL, which functions as a reminder list too

RL occasionally:  if there's only 1 book in the system and it doesn't meet my conditions, I have to wait until that one's gone or there's another so I can relist; or to find out how many copies there are before I post something

I normally check every day.

I use WL and Reminder only. I use goodreads to catalog. I would probably only use the wishlist but since the reminder has different features that appeal to me I have to maintain both. I must say, although I've been using this site for a relatively short time, there's somewhat a bit of a learning curve. It's not as user friendly as it could be. What does everyone else think?
