I know a lot of PBS members are members of other swapping sites too. |

I go to PBS first because if it's a wishlisted book as soon as you post it it gets locked up waiting for the requester to decide if they have enough points. If you go to any other site first & post your book & then go to PBS you might have to go back to the other site & remove your book because the book is tied up with PBS. |

I used to post anything meeting PBS guidelines and WL here. But now I just don't have the money to let a bunch of credits build up. With a TBR over 900-I also don't want to feel I have to spend those credits. So I do 3 trading sites. 1 allows for book conditions and I find is great for trading unpostable but still very readable books. But again- I only post there when I'm low on pts for financial reasons. Sometimes I let several WL books pile up and then offer them here in one of hte WL threads so I can save on postage money. If I have a good amount of credits built up and books piling up that I want to get out of the house-they go to a 3rd site I recently joined where the requestor pays the postage.
I never post a book that's WL (or likely to go quickly) on more than 1 trading site. I just think it's rude to post a WL book and then cancel it becuase it was requested on another site first. If I post a WL book here it's because I want a PBS credit. I also try to somewhat post books to the site I got them from. If it's a book that's readily available on the all the sites-then I post them to all. I have yet to have one requested on multiple sites. But I'm also on here several times a day and keep up with the sites. So if a book is requested-I immediately go the other sites and remove it from my shelf. If you can't keep up with them like that then you shouldn't have one book on more than 1 trading site. |

I find PBS has more of the books I want so I try to post all my books here. Ever so often I'll post unpostables on another site (you can post conditions so the person knows what they're getting), but then sometimes I have trouble finding something I want, so this last time I had unpostables I offered them as freebies here. I haven't ruled out the other site entirely though. I may still put my unpostables over there in the future. |

For me I look at a few things when trading books here or on other sites. Some books that I have traded here it was because the book was not in the dadabase at the other site. I trade all my unpostables and borderline books on another site. Very rarely I have traded WL at other sites because I have a lot of credits built up here so I trade the book at other sites. Also if I have a book that has 400 copies in the PBS system I may not list it here and will trade it at another site. I try very hard to never have the same books posted here as I do on other sites. |

I'm addicted enough to this place, why should I risk further temptation. -RD |

I am on 1 1/2 other sites (not sure I like the 1/2 site yet so I'm not fully committed). I have mostly all the same books on both sites so I live in constant fear that two people from the west coast will request the same book while I am safely abed. I suppose a visit from Matthewl to South Florida has better odds than that happening, but I like to worry. I also like the option of posting conditions on the other site, lets me get rid of some books I have been afraid to post on PBS and still live with myself. (AN EDUCATED CONSUMER IS OUR BEST CUSTOMER). I just feel so guilty sometimes!

Don't feel guilty for using more than one site. PBS knows that many of it's members use other sites. They jsut don't want to us to advertise those other sites here or bash PBS on any sites. They all have their pros and cons. |

I recently joined another site just to see what would happen. Books that had been sitting on my bookshelf since I joined here were snapped up right away when I posted them to the other site. The trick is to make sure that when books are requested on one site, making sure to remove them from your bookshelf on the other site. Oy vey, would that be a mess! This site is definitely more high tech -- more user friendly. But like Wayne, I like the fact that I can post books on the other site that would be considered unpostable here. And I don't feel quilty. LOL |

Don't feel guilty??????
I had an Italian grandmother - which is exactly the same as a Jewish Grandmother, except the Italian one is harder to understand!!

It's a lot easier to get points on the "other" site, so I always post books here first. If they are books with a lot of copies, I post in both places, but if they are books that are either WL or only have a few copies here, I usually only post therm here. I do love being able to trade overseas on the other site, and I love being able to post book conditions. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't post the condition, but points are so easy to come by there, it's not a huge deal if I get a few bad books. I love being on both sites :) I was on a third, but never had much luck and they just added fees (see the discussion in the Club Member's Thoughts forum). |

I post the books that are in like new or very good conditon on PBS since it is more picky on condition. On another site I will post the books that are in less stellar condition there because you are able to post condition notes there. I haven't posted at the other site in a while because I already have enough points built up and nothing has come up on my wishlist in ages. On that site it is first come first serve. You literally have to be setting at your computer when the book comes up. It's up for grabs for the dozens of people who want that book too. I get frustrated there not being able to spend my points. |
