I highly recomend the Dresden Files books by Jim Butcher.  They are one of the most fun reads ever, and ever since one of my friends found the series last year it has spread like a plague from him to a bunch of friends then to there families, friends and co-workers.  Every one who has started reading the series on my recomendations has flown through the whole series.  I would sugest reading them in order.  I would get in on this ring but I have the book already.

I ordered the series, based on another thread I read - I am so glad I did.  Wonderful writing and characters!

How does that work exactly?

Also, I haven't read the Butcher books - what are they about?  Is saw them in the bookstore but wasn't sure if I would like them or not.  I hate getting books that I don't like because I always feel that I have to finish it anyway and it takes time away from me reading a book that I just might love.

What else do you like?  I strongly recomend the Dreden files theyt are such a fun read.  I am currently re reading them a second time.  They have spread like a plague among my friends, every one who has read them has loved them ( with one exception, she likes the first two but lost interest after the third one) and everyone has gotten other prople hooked.  My wife and my mother both are reading them and I got some co-workers hooked as well.
