Inspired by the Eloisa James thread -- whose books have you collected without actually having read anything by them yet?

I have a ton of books by Patricia Potter - did read one by her, didn't much like it -- and Patricia Rice, Debra Dier, Marlene Susion (?) and probably tons of others I can't think of right now.  One of these days...

For some reason, I glommed Elaine Coffman and I can't get into any of her books but I keep them, thinking one day I will read them.

i used to pretty much always get the first book by someone and read it before i picked up any more of theirs, so i wasn't wasting money if i didn't like it.  since joining PBS it's just easier to get on the WL early and snag books as they come out rather than waiting, and putting myself on the WL later when i'd be *way* down the list.

i think i had eight of Gena Showalter's before i ever read one, i've got all (currently 4+) in paranormal series by several authors i've never read - Lara Adrian, Colleen Gleason, Jacquelyn Frank, Alexis Morgan, Jennifer Armintrout, to name at least some.  i've got lots more with 2-3 of authors i've never read.  this is probably when i keep having to find new shelves for my TBR books!

i was collecting Victoria Laurie books too, until i discovered the library has them all.  i still haven't read any.

It makes it easier since if I've read one book then it doesn't count as never read. and if I only have a few books by the author I'm not counting them LOL

Lisa Kleypas

Jillian Hunter

Julia Quinn

Sabrina Jeffries

Stephanie Laurens

Lavryle Spencer

Julie Garwood

Karen Marie Moning(new acquisitions)

Hannah Howell (new acqusitions)

diana Gabaldon(have 2 and 2 ordered so more than a few-but new acqusitions)

I'll probably think of some more though I do have a lot of other stuff collected and have only read one by that author!

I have a lot by these authors that I haven't yet read:

Kasey Michaels

Julie Garwood

Jo Beverly

Victoria Alexander

Hannah Howell

Jane Feather

Cheryl Holt

Cindy Gerard

Sherrilyn Kenyon

Janet Evanovich

Jillian Hunter

I also have some random books from authors I have never read, but hear other people talk about.  I just don't have a lot of books by them.  I think I picked up most of these books at UBS.

I just bought a lot of 49 romantic suspense books on eBay.  I've only read a couple of the authors, but it was such a good deal I couldn't resist ($5.50 + $16 shipping for 49 books!)  There are some authors with multiple titles that I haven't tried, including Carla Neggers, Janelle Taylor, and Dee Davis... I hope these are good!

I'm glad that I've read at least one book out of most of my little "collections":P  Some though, I haven't touched the first one.  I've only recently gotten into the Jo Goodman stuff; I've read 4 of them now, but I have all of her books save one.  Here's my list:

Eloisa James (obviously:P)

Shana Abe

Catherine Anderson

Elizabeth Boyle (who I recently started on, reading two of them)

Sandra Brown

Lisa Cach (I've read Mermaid of Penperro & had the rest for about 2yrs:P)

Kathleen Givens

Sandra Hill

Susan Howard (Have them all and read one)

Donna Fletcher

Amy J. Fetzer

Karen Hawkins (read one)

Jillian Hunter (read one)

Patricia Gaffney

Julianne MacLean

Elizabeth Lowell (read two)

Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Melody Thomas

Elizabeth Thornton

Kathryn Smith

Anne Stuart

Penelope Williamson (read one)

On the upside, I can report that I do eventually get around to reading these books.  I did the same thing with Laura Lee Guhrke, Suzanne Enoch, Maggie Osborne, & a couple of others and have managed to finish most of those, and I'm slowly working my way into Jo Goodman now.  It didn't work out so well with Victoria Alexander - I had read & liked The Lady in Question, but the one or two others I tried were very blah, so I put the rest that I had on my PBS shelf.  Same thing with Sabrina Jeffries.  Got every last one of her books, only to read a few and get rid of the rest:P  Susan Johnson: I read about half of them and didn't feel like reading any more.  I should say that sometimes this strategy does actually work... sometimes:P   I'm glad I started collecting the Maggie Osborne books before I started reading them, because there are still several that I don't have yet and I love her books.  If it's an established author that I'm just discovering, I will usually glom their backlists because sometimes it does take time to run down everything you want to read by them, and in the process, I'll invariably run across a half dozen or more of their other titles that I haven't heard of & will get those too - "just in case":P  You do end up with boxloads of stuff you'll never read this way, but I've also found many treasures like that as well:P

Oh, and I forgot Outlander.  I have all of the books that are released, but I've only read Outlander:P

Kim, move your butt and get those Patricia Gaffney's READ! You are sitting on solid gold there!

(Not that I don't have three of hers still in my TBR...)

Not really going to count first time authors.  I have many of those but if I get my hands on the next book in a series I like, I read those first and fill in between with one offs:lol:

I did get The Vampire Queen's Servant and even though the pages are all there (with a small portion arranged out of order/repeated) I can't get myself to read it.   I find that with vampire stories I don't care to read about female vampires in the heroine role--just doesn't interest me:lol:   Let me know if someone wants it--free to good home and I have markers in the pages letting you know what pages are where and in what order:lol:

I finally stopped putting MJD Undead series on my WL.   I read a few but finally I just was piling them up and not even trying to read them.  I figured someone else would like the WL to be shorter so I got out of line:LOL:

I left out Judith McNaught too.  Have them all, and just finally read one - Kingdom of Dreams.  Thought it was good, btw.

My whole TBR is full of authors that I have not gotten around to reading.  Here is my list:

Jennifer Blake

Candace Camp

Liz Carlyle

Kathryn Caskie

Catherine Coulter

Christina Dodd

Shannon Drake

Suzanne Enoch

Shanna Galen

Madeline Hunter

Eloisa James

Ana Leigh

Karen Moning

Karen Robards

Beatrice Small

It's not that I don't read, it's just that I tend to collect series and some have quite a few books.  It is nothing for me to start 2 or more series at one time.  I like to change up.  : )

Kim I used to read a lot of Judith McNaught, I loved what she was writing at the time (historicals). I think she may have moved on to romantic suspense, which isn't really my thing, unless its paranormal.

I'll keep my list short, I have about 4 books by Lorraine Heath in my TBR, 4 books on my WL...and have yet to read a single one by this author...but I think, I "might" like her so I keep ordering her stuff when I see a deal.  LOL

OMG I feel so - ..... left out! I don't think I've done a glom without reading ANY thing by the author! I did read 2 LaVyrle Spencers that I looooved and glommed her only to realize she's definitely a hit-or-miss for me. Loved Morning Glory and That Camden Summer, though!! I do like to get all the series in before reading since I hate waiting, but I did read Gone Too Far, Suzanne Brockmann Troubleshooters, then glommed the series after that.

Now - just having some authors in my TBR that I have never read - that does not count as a glom!!

But now this question: how many authors - who have more than 10 books in print - have you read EVERY SINGLE TITLE? For me - well, Susan Elizabeth Peters (except Glitter Baby...) and Julia Quinn and LaVyrle Spencer. Glitter Baby shouldn't count since it's out of print and incredibly hard to find, right? (Until the re-release)

Lol.  And there's another one I forgot: Lorraine Heath:P  I just passed all of that glom onto Anne last week.  I did like the Texas books though.  The regency stuff is only just so-so, IMO.  Not bad, but nothing to rave about.  I'm wondering at this point if I need to go through everything and revise my list:P

Oh criminy:P  Add Tara Janzen's "Crazy" series to that.  I got the set through BOB when somebody posted an excerpt in the Guess the Book thread months ago.  I haven't read even one of them yet.  I bet I could do this all night...

Pffft.  I knew there were more...  Add:

Shelley Bradley

Anna Campbell

Samantha James

Dara Joy

Kasey Michaels

Paula Quinn

Lindsay Sands

Tina St. John

To be absolutely fair to myself, I have read at least one book by a couple of those authors.  I just didn't enjoy them enough to keep going.  Not that I won't at some point.  They just aren't priority.  And I truly hope that's all of them...

Cherry Adair - Had her books but never read one of them - I will get to them someday :)

There are a few others as well - Susan Johnson, Mariah Stewart, Sophie Jordan, Kresley Cole, Lori Handeland.

I have their books on my TBR but have not read any :) Sometimes, if I bought a book and found out that it was part of a series, I'd order the whole series before I start reading. I am OCD like that .. lol. Right now, I have a couple Catherine Anderson books that are parts of a series. I have to order them all before I start.

Gloms that worked out for me - Tara Janzen, JR Ward, Diane Holquist, Julia Quinn, Kasey Michaels, Pamela Britton to name a few

Gloms that did not work out - Cheryl Holt
