I went to see it last Monday and I've gotta say that I thought they did a pretty good job of it.I especially enjoyed the painting of Roland in the beginning). I thought It looked like a made for TV movie but that's ok. The ending was of course different from the book but It had a much bigger impact don't you think?? Did anyone recognise the guy who played the town manager in Storm of the Century. He was much thinner in The Mist.Must be a big KING fan:) Anyhow................... I don't know if I would have liked the movie if I weren't a King fan who had already read the book but I am and I did!!LOL!! What did you think of it????????????

It's not out here but I heard from a friend on this site ( he's a huge horror fan)  and he said it was pretty good!!!

I can't wait to see it, I just re-read the book.

Christa

I will take any wishlist book in any condition as long as it's readable

Well I saw it and thought it wasn't too bad.  The story is one of my favorites and I've read it many times.   I did not expect that ending though.

I enjoyed it all the way up until the end.

I thought it was totally out of character for him to do what he did.  The original story had no such ridiculousness and it threw me off for the night.  Can anyone else think of a King book or short story where he does such a whiplash of irony?  Also, King has a way of rewarding his protagonists with righteousness or at least vindication for their actions.  This had neither.

I'm sure I was biased because I knew it was a King movie and had expectations.

i loved the movie. I went in not expecting anything and LOVED it. The ending was haunting and truly stuck with me and i thought it was great (im a sucker for "Bad endings" though, especially if done well, none of this happily ever after junk!).

I thought it had some great comedic moments throughout but it never took away from the ominous atmosphere. Was way surprised at how much i enjoyed it!
