Who's Afraid of Beowulf
Author: Tom Holt
They eat seagulls for breakfast, wear funny hats, and carry a 12,000-year-old grudge against evil. They're Vikings, of course, and they've been dug up by an archaeologist named Hildy, who never expected them to rise from the dead--or wage war.

I'm new to Tom Holt, but I really enjoy his writing. He has kind of a Douglas Adams like feel to his writing.

This book is a fun, relatively short story of an Archeologist who discovers a buried Viking ship and also finds the long "sleeping" vikings who set out to save the world from a powerful evil wizard.

If it sounds familier, it is, some plot parallels with "Flying Dutch" and "I thought you'd be taller".

I enjoyed this book, but I was slightly disappointed because my expectations were set very high after reading "Faust Among Equals" first - which is even more hilarious and fun! This is a fun read too, don't get me wrong.
