If you were to be a casting director for your favorite romance turned movie who would play your hero?

For my casting couch Josh Holloway would be the perfect "Clay" from Kelley Armstrong's Bitten

I know this ages me, but I still go for Jack Nicholson.  He is such an Alpha bad boy.  Or Sean Connery.  Or Kevin Costner.  Oh, my.  You could drink wine in bed with those guys.

Christian Bale would be great as Christian Langland, Duke of Jervaulx in Flowers From The Storm which would make an INCREDIBLE movie.

J.D. Robb's In Death series - I have a serious dream cast for that.

Sandra Bullock as Eve -  People have questioned this, but I think her character from Murder By Numbers is close to how I envisioned Eve.

Johnny Depp as Roarke  - I've been questioned about this, too, but I maintain that he looks amazing in a tux, and can also pull off the Irish-accented badass (a la Chocolat).

On a different note, is anyone else deeply disappointed in the picks for the Stephanie Plum series?  I don't know about the guys, I guess they're okay and they visually suit the parts, but I absolutely can not see Katherine Heigl as Stephanie Plum.

I'm not a fan of Katherine Heigl. Supposedly she's in talks to also be in Outlander (Outlander, Bk 1) by Diana Gabaldon!

Yeah, I've never had much use for her.  To me, she always plays basically the same character - and that character isn't particularly likeable or interesting (and not nearly kooky enough to be Stephanie Plum).

They have Debbie Reynolds playing Grandma Mazur, not how I pictured her to look.

I always pictured Grandma Mazur as a cross between Doris Roberts and Estelle Getty.  You're right, I can't see Debbie Reynolds in that role at all.

And I always thought of Queen Latifah in the Lula role.

y'all are going to think I am crazy, I am sure...but I would really love to see Seth Green play Eric Murray in Highland Promise, and it would make an excellent movie.

Just thought...Jace Montgomery in Jude Deveraux's Wishes

ed to add:  I'd pick him becaue Jace is supposed to sing in that book and Mr. Jackman can sing very well.

Oh Jude Deveraux. That's bringing back fond memories. She was my intro to romance novels.

I completely agree with you! I think she would be great. No one can do sarcastic like Sandra! I really like Colin Farrell as Roarke but also Jonathan Rhys Meyers (he's got killer eyes!).

Estelle Getty as Grandma Mazur - that would be perfect.

Edited to add, I don't think Debbie Reynolds will be salty enough for the role.

This may sound really weird, but I think that Claire from Outlander could be played by Sandra Bullock, if she can pull off the accent.  As for Jamie, I think he'd have to be a previously unknown actor.  Does Sean Connery have a grandson?

Jamie is by far the most difficult person to cast. Everyone is saying Gerald Butler but I think he looks to old. Jamie's supposed to by very young! Maybe the new Thor guy if he can pull off a Scots accent.

I think with Outlander they are going to almost have to have "unknowns" playing the parts or it won't seem realistic.

Does Sean Connery have a grandson

I know he has a son named Jason. He used to be in a Robin Hood TV series a long time ago. Then and now pics...

This is the website for Outlander The Musical with photos of the actors playing Jamie and Claire.  Diana Galbadon thought the actor who played Jamie would work for the movie, but she has no say in the casting.  When I look at him, I don't see Jamie.  But that's just me.  http://www.outlanderthemusical.com/gallery.htm
