We start the first week in Sept.

Although, I've been going in for the past three weeks.....our building was reconfigured and my classroom was moved!!!  I'd forgotten how much work goes in to starting a room from scratch!!  Since it is all volunteer time put in.....definitely a labor of love!!

Hi!  I have been going in to school and working for several weeks because our district was reconfigured.  We now have 3 buildings: k-2, 3-6 and 7-12.  I have been moved to a new room and a new position.  Now it's out with the old stuff and in with the new material. It's been mostly pitching some and reorganizing the rest.   I have worked in this district for 20+ years and absolutely love it.  I work with the best staff ever!   I love this time of year when we are at school but are free to chat,  take a long lunch, or leave early to go shopping!!!  We have two staff development days coming up 9/1 and 9/2 and then back with kids!

Teachers start tomorrow and the kids the next Monday.  I've been going in for a couple of hours a day for the last two weeks, but didn't get nearly as much done as I had hoped...I'm moving back to a traditional 4th grade after teaching one subject (3, 4, 5th grade writing) for seven years.  I"m looking forward to it (beginning 35th year) but I'm trying to get a handle on the curriculum I very studiously avoided for seven years!

I have in-service on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.  Our students begin next Wednesday, August 26th.  I teach a self-contained fourth grade classroom.  I have been going in the mornings for the past week, working for a few hours each day, to get things ready.  I am looking forward to a good year, though I know that this group of students is going to be a challenge.
