Something that's puzzled me for a while now -- why do you sometimes run across listings in which the words in the title of a book have been randomly abbreviated? Something like (this is just one I'm making up) "Othr Sd of Mdnght" for "The Other Side of Midnight"? Obviously this could cause problems if you were doing a search by title! I've usually sent in a correction when I found one like this, but I've always wondered -- is this just someone's eccentric habit or was there a time on PBS when the character count on titles was limited or something and folks had to squeeze-to-fit? |

Gina-- Those records were probably taken from another source, such as Amazon. PBS often draws on book data from other places, then folks like you and me clean it up. On a side note, maybe you'd like to join the Book Data Team and get a nice shiny icon to wear while you're making those corrections? Details are available in this thread: http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=60867 Cheers, |

I think those are just typos. Either someone entered the book in wrong here or at the website PBS got the info from. I frequently see author's names spelled wrong. PBS wants us to submit edits to correct these things. The only thing we can't correct or change is binding type. |
