I am frustrated.  I seldom find any book I actually want here and when I do order one, I get this note that the trader can't send it because she's going to give it to a PBS friend instead.  Then why doesn't she DO it and remove it from the lists?

Regarding the note you received, that happens but not often. Some people make mistakes when they post books...it's just the way it is, so don't take it personal. But you should be getting a new copy offered to you soon (if the book is available, it's already ordered by the system; if it's not, you shouldn't have long to wait unless the book is rare.)

If you want any ideas for books to wish list, visit the forum for your favorite genres. I'm sure there you'll find tons of ideas of books you can wish list or order if they are available. Right now you only have 16 books in your WL so of course you'll have a lot less offers

The situation you described happens on occassion, but the majority of swaps go through.  You should defintely add books to your wishlist and then you should be getting more response.  Also one of the neat things about PBS for me is that its opened my eyes to a number of new genres that I otherwise would have never tried.

Sorry to hear your frustrated!  Here is my advice, I am not sure if you have done this but I know I have and it really frustrated me at first.  But when you order a book, and the seller declines it for whatever reasons, don't click on the cancel button.  If the first seller doesn't send then the request will move to the next person.  So, for example, if you order a book and the seller declines and you click cancel well then that's it, you won't get it,  But if the first seller doesn't send it and you just wait then the offer will go to the next person who has that book available...and let's say there are 15 copies of that book on the site then you will find someone who will actually send it.  Again, not sure if that's what you did, but I know that I did when I first got here and quickly learned that's not the best way to get books.

Also, if you haven't set up your favorite genres on your profile yet, I recommend that you do.  When you put in your favorite genres you will see a list of books that were recently posted on the main page for your favorite genres.  That is the easiest way for me to find something I would be interested in besides searching for a specific book.

>>>I seldom find any book I actually want here<<<

I just looked at the amount of books actually posted into PBS.

It is well over 5 million at this moment.

YOur comment makes me curious as to what kind of books you like.

I like lookign for books that I *know* members here will snap up, esp. if they have very unusual tastes that cannot be satisfied by a database of 5 million posted books.

So, what kind of books are you looking for?  I sure will keep an eye out for them.

You may also want to expand your WL and get in line for those books you do want.  Many of the WL lines move fairly quickly.
