I'm fairly new here. I have built up several credits and have received one book. Now I tried to request another book and it says I never verified my email and must verify it in order to request a book. Since I've gotten a book before, this doesn't make sense. I haven't changed my email, either, since I joined.
Just wondering if anyone knows why. Not that it's a big deal to do it again, but I can't access my email right now because I'm not at home. |

My guess is that you handled the transactions all from your home computer, but you never verified your e-mail. Now you're trying to log in from another remote computer, and the system won't accept your commands because the account isn't fully unlocked. So get home and verify that e-mail! :) |

This just happened to me too. I've been a member for about 20 days and I've already swapped several books. I'm using my home computer which is the only computer I've ever accessed my account from. I confirmed it again and it let me order the book. Hope it doesn't do that again. |

This happened to me as well. I was in the middle of ordering books. I have already ordered, received, mailed plenty of books. It made it seem like I was a brand new member. Something must have been going on behind the scenes. |

The Paperback Swap team has told us that the members who joined recently were able to order books without confirming their E-Mail address due to some glitch. So, these members are now receiving the need to confirm E-Mail message. So, they will just have to do it once now, and they will be fine. If they no longer have a copy of the original "Welcome" email with the link in it, they can click the link in the message on the page which comes up after you click Order This Book on any available book (they do NOT have to finish requesting the book), to re-send a copy of the email to them. If the link in the email is not clickable, simply copy-paste the URL into your web browser to be taken to the correct page. Last Edited on: 4/5/09 3:35 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
