Could be a lot of reasons

1) They are new and didn't know they were supposed to

2) They forgot

3) Their computer broke down and they couldn't get online.

I just got a question to that affect. She got the book and she can't mark it as received because it was never marked as mailed......

I don't have a problem with forgetting to mark books as sent here since they send a reminder email, but I am pretty bad about doing it on Amazon when I send things. I have had to send a few apologetic emails!

But then again my volume isn't high! I can imagine some of the people who get several requests per day, than several per week, it would be difficult managing the time... how many you wanna lug to PO and all...

I did that once.  Printed out the info, packaged up the book, mailed it, promptly forgot about it.   The book arrived quickly, only two days later, (so the system didn't remind me to mark it sent) and the receiver had to PM me.  Not so mysterious.

I did that a couple times before I started marking them mailed once I wrapped them. I used to wait until I got back from the PO, and it's too easy to forget.

I THINK this is what happened to me recently. I had a WL book come up, it was printed and then never marked mailed. I'm expecting I'll see it in the mail sometime this week anyway.
