Twice now I've had a problem with people not being able to post books to me because my account was on hold, even though the books were on auto-request. I don't understand why this is an issue. Isn't that the whole point of auto-request, that you can get your books even when your account's on hold? |

Do you have credits? If you have an item on auto-request and you do not have credits (and your account is on Hold)
Do you have RCs? I was recently on vacation hold and I had an WL auto-request work fine through FIFO. Not sure what happens when someone tries to post directly to your WL when your account is on hold? Can someone else even see your WL if your account is on hold? |

Have credits, have no RCs. The problem is the account hold. I think you're right, people can't access it at all when it's on hold. |

my understanding is that even if your books are on auto-request your bookshelf is not visible when you are on Vacation Hold, thus that prevents someone from posting directly to your account...auto-request will still allow FIFO to work though. |

Yep, it's only if it's a post directly to your wishlist....if the book comes through FIFO it works fine. As to why they should differ, I don't know. Good question for The Powers That Be. Cheryl Last Edited on: 6/25/09 10:35 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

This was changed since I joined, I'd say in the last 6 months sometime. The Post This Book button used to be there, but the books ended up in the WL line anyway if they were posted to someone on Hold. The only thing I can guess is there was a coding issue with allowing to go to a Vacation Hold AR who wasn't first in line, so they just removed the button completely to avoid the problems people were having of the book being offered to the first person in FIFO. |
