Traces the three major historical periods that have brought us to our current spiritual crisis in a world suffocating with materialism. Great message, but a bit hard to read...the author seems to want to make sure we know he's smart!

When I purchased this book, I thought it was going to be more basic and faith based, such as why it's important to believe in God or have moral values, etc. I always read a book cover to cover, which includes the forward or introduction, table of contents, etc. I ended up having to look up the meaning of 5 words before I got to Chapter 1, namely Modernity, Epistemology, Prometheanism, Metaphysics and Nihilism. This seems to be more a book about complicated philosophies that I have not studied. Perhaps more appropriate for a Philosphy student/expert or a very advanced Religious student/expert. I'm not going to read the book.
