While I couldn't totally disagree with his statements in the book, I think he confuses Gods moral Law and the Ten Commandments. The two are not the same thing. Gods moral law stems from his character They are based on who he is. The Ten Commandments were laws given to the nation of Israel to test their fidelity to Him.
