have a "What I'm reading now" category / button thingy?  We have lists of books that we wish we had, books that we need to read, and even a list of books we've read.  Why don't we have a button for "what I'm reading now" ?  I know I would use it! Plus, I'm a nosey person and always llike to look at what other people are reading.

ETA: I think it might even help books move faster through the system, and generate interest in some books that tend to stagnate after a while.  Just a thought.

Alot of people put that in their signature.  For me it changes too fast for it to be worth putting on a seperate list. I'm fast reader and usually read 4-5 books a week.  About once a week I'll update my signature and put a list of my recent reads.

A lot of people also tag their TBRS and RLs and put a link in their singature inviting people to take a look.

I know, Mary! I used to have it in my signature for a while, but I also found out that I read books too fast to keep my siggy updated.  I think if there were only a button to add what you're reading now, I would for sure use that instead!   From there, it would possibly even be easier to go ahead and post the book to your shelf when you're done with it (if you wanted to, for instance).

I regularly use the message boards and occasionally respond to the message threads here about What you're reading, but not regularly.

What a cool idea!  Have you sent the suggestion to TPTB?

Bear in mind that most my reads are library books

I usually just post in the various genre forums what I'm reading now, usually there's a monthly thread in mystery/thriller, fantasy, historical fiction (which are about the only genre forums I read), or the general 'what are you reading now' in Hidden Gems. I also have listed on my profile what I've finished up for the month and my current reads, when I remember to update it. I read a lot, so sometimes it changes almost daily. Can't really see the point of having it on display--is that what you're talking about? Having what you're reading somewhere like under the Bookshelf/WL/PM buttons on forum posts? I have signatures blocked so never see those, but I know some folks do put that information there.

Feedback about anything, suggestions, etc. can be sent to TPTB (the powers that be) under the Contact Us link at the bottom of every page.
