I really love the deals in the book bazaar but I'm so afraid the requests will time out or be cancelled and go to the next in line! wish there was a box to check when requesting that says not to go to the next if it times out.

and while we're at it how 'bout an 'express lane' LOL where we c heck for it to wait 24 hrs then go to the  next who has it?! :-) for us impatient sorts :-) oh well I can dream with 2 hours' sleep can't I?

I don't about the 24 hr thing-some peopel only have computer access at work and at the library. It would be fair to them to keep losing out on book orders because they couldn't respond for a day or two. Or people who have budget issues and need to let it sit for a few days to get them to payday.

I do like the check box idea though.  Being able to click "do not reorder this book" would probably cut down on a lot of complaintes.

Or maybe if a book request was cancelled or timed out instead of automatically reorderign the book it could just put it on your reminder list and send a message asking if youj want the book reordered for you.

The do not reorder option is a good one. I'd like that.

I  agree with Mary on the other issue. I sometimes wait a day or two to accept an order just to get me closer to my mailing day.

Heck, I'd prefer the "do not reorder" as the default option.  Maybe you get an email or pop-up saying, "This transaction didn't go through.  Would you like us to reorder for you?"

This is based on the number of Live Help queries I get as a Tour Guide from members who get 2 copies, or can't mark a book received because it was never mailed, or other confusion related to the "rolling over" process being so transparent.

Just my personal opinion, since we're dreaming :-)

Susanna, if you haven't already, why not send your suggestion to the PBS Team?  It is my understanding that they take member input very seriously, and the worst they can do is say "no thanks" :-)

Cheers,

Catt

It wouldn't matter to me personally since if I order a book, I darned well want it and it can roll through 20 people if need be! LOL I don't do deals and such though, so the OP's problem isn't one I have issues with.

But given the number of people who DO have questions/problems about "deals gone wrong" I would say that's a good suggestion. Some folks don't want to order a book unless it's part of a deal, and if the deal doesn't get fulfilled, it would be a good thing to be able to stop a re-order of all those books from several different people.

That's a great idea, do write and suggest it. I've seen a lot of great improvements in the site since I've been using it, so I think they do pay attention to suggestions.

I thought this post was going to be about something I would like, the option to opt out of a wishlist book, while staying on the list.  Sometimes I get offered a book sooner than I want it, but having to go all the way to the end of the line sucks.  An "after you my dear Alphonse" feature would be great. :-)

Anyone else that likes this idea should also send it to the Contact Us link.  The more requests they get for it, the more seriously they will consider it.
