I have a book posted on my shelf that is wishlisted and when I look at my bookshelf, it has the icon next to it that indicates the first person in line has their wish list on auto. The thing that puzzles me is that I have not yet received the order for this book. What's up with that?

Wendy, even with auto request, there is still the 1-hour buyer's remorse time lag built in.

Thanks, Cindy. Just wondering. Book has 34 people with it wishlisted and I have had it posted since Sunday with no takers so far.

It could be that the first person (or two) had it held on their wishlist for 48 hours, they never responded, and now you're looking at a third person who has it on their list.  I posted a book with a very long WL Thursday night, and it wasn't accepted until yesterday because the first few people in line never responded or rejected it when it was offered to them.

Is that the way it works?  Does the Wishlist autorequest indicator mean that the FIRST person in the wishlist line has the book on auto, or just SOMEONE in the line has it on auto.  Just curious.

it usually means the first person has it on auto....now they could have rejected the book in that 1 hour "buyer's remorse" period or when you posted the book the first person wasn't on auto accept

They also could have been out of credits and it went to the 48hr hold to give them a chance to get a credit.

It's also possible that they were online when you posted the book and cancelled it within the 1hr hold.  Sometimes people forget to remove books from their WL when then buy it themselves or have multiple versions on WL.  I posted a WL book the other day and the person was online and accepted it almost immediately. They just happened to be online and first in line when I posted the book. I ended up posting another book to them and they accepted that one right away as well.

Four hours later and the book is still sitting on my shelf with the WA next to it.
