I currently have my account on vacation hold, but I have a wish list book that I've set to auto request. When I was looking around today, I noticed that there is one copy of this book in the system. I think what may have happened is that this is the book that was offered to me a few days ago, but the sender refused because of my RC. My RC stated "hard covers with dust jackets please". I meant this to only apply to hardcovers, and the book I was ordering was a paperback. The sender misinterpreted my request (understandably) to mean that I only wanted hardcovers, so she denied my request. At that point, I figured the book would roll over to the next person on the wishlist. Including myself, there are only two people wishing for this book. Now, I notice that I'm still one of two, and there is a copy in the system. My guess is that the other requester also had user conditions that the sender didn't want to accept. My question is...Would it cause any problems if I request this book after removing my RC? I'm not sure if I want to remove it from my wishlist though because it might take awhile for me to get it again if for some reason my order doesn't go through. Anyone have any advice for me? Thanks! I believe you can request it if you remove your RCs. Are you sure it is the same ISBN as the one you requested? I have sometimes found books on my WL in the system under different ISBNs. Cheryl |

I would double check to see if this book is even the one you have on your wishlist. I'm betting it's a different ISBN #. Personally, if you want the book, I'd remove the RC and order the book that is in the system. I literally had the same RC you did for a very long time and it's amazing how many people interpret that to mean I only want hardbacks. I finally changed the RC and prefaced it with: "If you are sending me a paperback please disregard the following ..." |

Thanks Cheryl and Susan-- Yup, it is the same ISBN #. I think I will go ahead and order the book and leave it on my Wish List, but I'll take it off of auto request. That way I'll still keep my #1 spot on the wishlist should something happen and the request not get completed for some reason. Susan--that's a good idea regarding prefacing your RC with "If you are sending me a paperback please disregard..." I'm going to add that to my RC as well! |
