I have posted two books on my shelf, that there is multiple members wishing for. Because the photo cover, or isbn does not match exactly it did not get flagged for these members to request I guess.

I think it is kind of tricky because some members incorrectly add items or don't update their wish lists.

Anyone got any ideas? I was sure these would get requested.

You have to post them by the ISBN you have--there is an e-mail that goes to members who have them wishlisted notifying them that a similar book has been posted--so if they want a different version, they can click on a link to order it. (Of course, that is an optional e-mail and many people have it turned off, because they want ONLY the version they have wishlisted.

Covers never have to match at PBS, but ISBNS do. Some people only want audio (because they're blind) or large print (because they don't see well) or only want paperback (because they have arthritis and can't hold up a heavy hardcover) or only want HC (because they are collecting that book for their Keeper shelf and already read the paperback)...any number of reasons why someone might only want one particular version. If you list books by typing in title and author only and click any old 'post this book' button and send the wrong one, they will likely call you on it and ask for their credit back because you sent the wrong book...a non-matching ISBN.

You can go to the Book Bazaar and look for a thread about "wishlisted books under different ISBNS" and post what you have there to make folks aware...that often works to get them ordered quickly.

If you have a different ISBN but the same binding of a WL book then you can also tag the WL book with "posted under ISBN xxx" of your book.  I would my version on my reminder list and see how many copies are posted.  If there are already more than a couple of copies in the system-then like Cheryl said those people really want that version they have on their WL. Some people are very picky about binding. Other people don't care at all.

I WL a lot of audiobooks and have the email reminder turned off because I was getting 20-30 emails a day-one for each book and each ISBN posted of that book.

There's a thread in the Book Bazaar for WL books with a different ISBN.  You could try posting it there also.

I recommend using the tags on the WL books to promote your ISBN number.  That way the next person to request it will see the other number.  The site is suppose to link the different versions of a book, so you will see them in red or green at the bottom of the book listing.  This does not always happen.
