I noticed that 8 people have this book listed on their wish lists.  I have a postable copy of the 2005 version.  The wish list copies have a different ISBN # . . . is it acceptable to repost this book using the new ISBN # (the covers are the same).

?????

Thanks!

No the ISBN has to match. Is the binding the same? If the WL version is for audio, hardcover or large print than they probably really want that version. Ifyou post it and send it out you will have a complaint and owe them a credit back.

Well I looked it up and it looks like they are reissuing the book. So I tagged the WL version with the # of copies and the ISBN that's available. I also tagged it with the original publication date. Some people really want brand new versions though. But maybe on of them will see it and order a copy that's already available. Although that may not be your copy.

Yep, the binding is the same...weird.  I have the same issue with Sabrina Jeffries "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie" -- different ISNB numbers -- same covers (same books).  Interesting.

Thanks for your reponse.  Much appreciated.

Is one a mass market paperback size and the other trade sized?  Some people really dislike the smaller books and find trade sized much easier to hold and read.

They are both MMPs.  The book is being reissued. So people probably saw it on Amazon or somewhere as an upcoming release and looked up the ISBN.  The ISBN listing on PBS shows it as having a 2010 publication date.  So some of those 8 people on WL for it might not have know that it's a reissue of a book that's been out for a few years.  Then some of them may have it on WL because they want the newer version.  They think if htey wait for the newer version it'll be in better condition.

Who knows.  I've seen heavily posted book that have like 1 copy that's WL and it'll be an PBS assigned ISBN that'll probably never get posted. Or it's also an MMP with the same picture as several other versions that are heavily posted.  Who knows.  I don't think people pay attention to the setting when they do a book search and don't switch it to show All Versions.

Sometimes with older books I wonder if it's a remnant for when all copies of the book were WL (early days of PBS) and the people on that WL aren't active anymore. If it's an uncommon version it could jsut not have been posted recently enough to weed otu the inactives.

I think the book bazaar has a WL Under Different ISBN thread and you could probably post your book there and see if anyone snaps it up.
