Is there a way to tell how far down  you are on a wish list book with lots of other members requesting it also?

Go to your WL and put the cursor over the grey circle with the exclamation mark and it will tell you your place in the WL line.

Just keep in mind that this doesn't include people who might have their account on hold or books that might go lost or get cancelled.  But it's usually pretty accurate-your place in line just might move up and down a bit.

Melinda,

I found that even being on the wish list you can still wait awhile . i have been wanting a book for quite awhile now and I'am #2 and still I'm waiting . But heck , "PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE ", and just thinnk then when I do get it ,i'll be that much more happier . I have enough books to read that I dont mind waiting .

Yes, it's nice to know where you are in a line, but the actual number isn't any indication of when your book will be posted.

I was #600-something on new Harry Potter book when I put it on my WL and received it faster than some books that I was #1 on list, and am still waiting at #1 position to this day.

The WL lines for big block-buster books tends to move pretty fast because a lot of people just can't wait to get it, read it and post it here.  I know, usually if I see a really long line for a new book I want-that's what I do if I can.

It's the lesser known, harder to find books that you can wait a long time for sometimes.

I don't think I should have found that little trick out. Now I am all depressed about my placement on many of my books. Oh well, may have to break down on some of them and buy some:)
