I have noticed a new option on my wishlist for "hold." Can someone explain that for me? thanks! |

The WishList Hold option is an option to temporarily remove yourself from the WishList line, and then later get back in line at your former place. Before the WishList Hold was an option, if you didn't want to receive a WL book offer, you had to remove the book from your WL or decline the offer, and then put the book back on your WishList again when you could accept the offer. And return to the WL at the back of the line. This way, when you put the WL book on Hold, you are taking yourself out of the line for receiving offers for that book. You will not be offered any copies of the book while you are on Hold for it. Any copies of the book that come in will be offered to the next person in the WL line, not you. However, once you come off of Hold for the book, you get back in the WL line in your former place (or where you would be if you had stayed in line). It is like a placeholder for the WL line. You move forward with the line, but just don't have books offered to you until your Wish is active again. It is great for when you don't have many credits, you can put the books you are likely to be offered soon (#1 place in WL line) on hold till you build up enough credits so you can accept the requests when they come in. thank you! That is what I hoped it was! I have a lot of audio books on there, but I have such a big TBR stack to listen to that I feel guilty taking a wish list book when someone else might enjoy it sooner than me. But, I didn't want to lose my place. Great feature! |
