A book on my shelf was wishlisted by someone.  It had been on my shelf for a few weeks before the wish list icon appeared, so they must have just wishlisted it.  Anyway, the 48 hours expired and there was no response from them that they still wanted the book.

My question is, what if they just forgot to check their computer for a couple of days and completely missed out on their chance to request the book.  I suspect that I have the only copy in the system.  Is there any way for me to PM the person and be sure they saw that the book is available?

This is a self-published type of book and probably won't be in high demand, so I'd hate to miss out on the only person on the planet that was interested in it! =0)

Unfortunately, unless you noted the name of the person when it was on hold, there's not really a way to contact that person. (You could have PM'd her while it was waiting for her response.)

I'd suggest making a post about it in the "Hidden Gems" forum if you think it's worth a read. (It's obviously not a best-seller, right?) Or you can make a post in the Book Bazaar to publicize it.

Bummer that the one person interested let it time out. :(

I think (although I am not positive about this, so someone clarify for me if I'm wrong) that she can wishlist the book again and the request will go back to you again.

If your copy of the book is still posted, won't the person be able to order it again?

i didn't think you could add a book to your WL that was already available?  perhaps her account had been on vacation hold and the user removed the vacation hold so their WL became active again.  just thinking.

in any case, she'd have been sent an email that a WL book was available.  so if she gets back and sees that she missed it, she can look for it again and hopefully order it.

Was your shelf on hold?  I have my shelf on hold and I noticed once that a book I had on my shelf became a WL book while it was on hold.  I took it off long enough for it to make the WL offer.  You can't WL a book that's available in the system.  You can request the book or put it on your Reminder List. But you can't Wish List a posted book.  So unless your shelf was on hold, I'm not sure what happened there.  If the person wants the book they can request it through the FIFO system or order it from your shelf.  If a WL offer times out, it takes it off your WL.  You then have to add the book back to your WL if it's already been requested by someone else.
