so whats the point of the wish list? is it kind of like a waiting line where as it becomes available it will be sent to you or is it for other people to buy it for you? either one sounds cool i suppose.

Yep, it's a waiting line. When the book becomes available, it's offered to the first person in line. If they don't accept, it rolls over to the next. Either way, you move up a spot in line. Until it's your turn! Yay!

cool beans! one more question. how often do books become available? does it just depend on the book or what? i know with my luck id wait forever for a book to pop up and get tired of waiting and just buy the book only for it to become available lol.

It all depends on the book.  And you might think that the books with super long WL lines will take the longest. But in my experience, most of those move very quickly becasue they are popular.  It's the ones with only a couple of people in line that can often take eons to get.  But I have gotten several out of print/hard to find books here.

You can be number 300+ for a very popular book and get it in a few months, or you can be #1 for a rarely posted book and wait years.  It's a surprise every time!

Oh.  If a book has a short, five or six digit ISBN, don't waste the time to put it on your wish list.  That is a single use number.

Do put several versions of full sized ISBNs on your Wish List.  Some might turn out to be the rarely posted UK versions.

And, sometimes a friend will post a WL book directly to you before you hit the number 1 spot.  That is one cool thing about Gold Key.  When I post a book it immediately tells me if I have friends wishing for it.  I then have an option to post it directly to one of them or to choose to post it to person in the number 1 position on the wishlist.
