When you add a book to your wishlist do you have to select all the forms of the book if you don't care what version you get? For example, there are lots of versions of The Wolf of Wall Street - hardcover, paperback, different publication dates. If I pick just one version is that the only one I am offered if it becomes available?

Yes, you will only be offered the version that is posted on your wish list.

If your wish list is so full that you do not want to add all the versions of a title, then make sure your settings are turned on to receive "Wish List - Other Versions" emails from PBS.  This will only happen if the other versions are not on someone else's wish list.

Yup. PBS is ISBN driven. The ISBN on your Wish List will be the only one(s) you are in line for.

If the versions are linked, then the other versions on your WL will be put on hold when you are mailed one.

To link, books must have the same exact title and author.  They will then show up on the other versions button on your WL.  Unlinked versions do not get put on automatic hold.

The "Wish List - Other Versions" option is located in the Settings tab under Email Settings.

Depending upon your settings, you may get email notices from PBS that a similar version to the one(s) on your wish list is available. The email states that the book is available but not on hold. In other words, the book is available and the transaction will be initiated by the first requestor.

When multiple editions are displayed when adding to you WL you must check at least one. Then you may check as many of the others as you wish.

you can expand your wish list when you add a book to it.  if other versions are available, they will be listed for you to check if you want to add them to your WL.

And when if your 200-entry WL gets full with listing multiple ISBNs for the same title, you can buy a Gold Key membership which includes many benefits, including a 300-entry WL.

Gold Key Membership can be purchased in the Kiosk for $12.99 a year.  Subscribing to Gold Key gives you these features:

  • Directed Delivery

When you request a book and multiple copies are available, the system will determine the most expedient way to get the book to you.  We take into account several factors to get your book to you as quickly as possible, putting special emphasis on the closest geographical location for “Greener swapping”!

  • Expanded Wish List

Can't fit all the books you're wishing for onto your Wish List? The basic member Wish List can hold 200 items. As a Gold Key member you can add 100 MORE items to your Wish List, up to a total of 300 items!

  • Friends Direct

What are friends for, if not to share books with? Gold Key Members can easily search all their PaperBackSwap Friends' Bookshelves to find books to request, and if you Post a Wish List book that is on a Friend’s active Wish List, you will be shown a list of your friends who are currently wishing for the book, and you will be able to offer it directly to any of them (or to none of them, and offer it to the club in general)! To do this, just post the book as usual and you will see the list of your friends who are currently wishing, if any of them are currently wishing for that book - you can choose from that list.

  • Multi-Copy Requesting

If you’ve ever wanted to order more than one copy of a particular book for your book club, classroom or reading group, this feature is for you!  As a Gold Key Member you can choose exactly the number of copies you need from the available books, and order them all simultaneously. No more ordering only one at a time! To do this, just click the "order" button on the book listing, and on the next page you will have the option to choose to order more than one copy simultaneously - if more than one copy is available at that time.

In addition, Gold Key members enjoy one Courtesy Postage Fee per month (each fee = 55 cents, so that's up to $6.60 annual savings), and a nifty Gold Key badge on your member profile, identifying you as a Gold Key Member.
