I have tags on books I want to remember since my Reminder List is clogged with so many other things for reference. When I am looking at someone shelf, either out of interest or because I have ordered one from them and would like to order more - if I could sort by tags that would be great. Is there anything like that which I am not thinking of? |

You can search a shelf by genre, which can weed out books that you are not interested in. I use that alot when I am searching a HUGE shelf and don't want to look at 14 pages of books. |

I believe that a majority of members don't ever use tags based on what help docs and live helpers have told me. So thinking that's going to solve a lot of search issues is a fallacy. Months ago I was asking "tag-related" questions and discovered that many times I've been the last person to use a tag even if I haven't tagged anything in almost a month! And I'm frequently the first person to 'ever' use tag so that tells you how infrequently that function is used. I've only been a member about 23 months so I'm really surprised about that. |

I also wish that Tags weren't dropped by the wayside and they had made it to being searchable which had been in the plans for them originally. But the Tag function seemed to take on a use of its own with people using them personally much more than for club-wide use and that made it cumbersome to have them show on the lists (and it was getting a lot of personal use Tags marked erroneously removed), and then they went the route of the Wiki section. I had spent a lot of time on Tags and wasn't going to do it again with Wiki to have it go nowhere. Now I think the Wiki function has also not bloomed because not enough people are using it and filling out the information. |
