I wish there was a place just for selling credits so that I would be able to better see what book deals are being offered.

I agree. I come to find books and many are blurbs to find or sell credits. Maybe something admin can think about

I echo these thoughts- it would be nice to have Book Deals Only and separate forum for Selling Credits.

There used to be, a few years ago. There was a thread specifically for credit selling. People decided they didn't like it that way, I suppose, and went back to listing them the way you see things now. I think it was due to the fact that the Bazaar was a LOT more active back then, and a thread that you started in the morning could be halfway down on page 2 without a bump by the afternoon (necessitating the need for the "only one bump per day allowed" rule.) There were far less people selling credits back then too, so the thread tended to disappear faster. I think people just got away from it in order to keep their offers visible and try to sell them faster.

I agree     yes                  Maybe you can suggest that!      Its hard to see what deals are being offered because there are so many people selling credits  When I first joined this forum was pretty much all deals. now its hard to see them because of all the threads about credits.

I agree that a credit swap forum would be useful but I do not see that happening.  Any credit sold here is a credit that is not sold in the kiosk for the desperate person who is now being offered that book they have had on their wish list for the past 2 years and they are out of credits.  It does not make business sense for the COMPANY to make it easier to make the swap. The argument is that if someone sells credits to get postage to allow them to continue to post books, the books continue to flow, so expediting that flow of credits is to the benefit of the COMPANY as well as to the swappers. Since now only Limited or Standard members can post to the forums it is no longer a "sell out so I can move out" frenzy.

Please do send in Feedback about the idea. The more people they hear like an idea, the better chance it has of being implemented. The credit selling should die down some the farther we get away from the switch over to memberships. Right now there are 4 days of posts on the main page, so it has already died down enough to not push book deals off of the front page too quickly.

Unnecessary. Even with the extreme number of postings involving credits, the entire month is observable in 5 or 6 pages.  Everybody is pretty clear about their titles. I'm more than half blind and don't find it a problem.  You'll likely see it only occasionally now with an upswing next February when folks have to renew.

I personally don't have a problem scrolling through the topic headers to find the ones about book deals.  I am just glad that selling and buying credits at a discount are allowed here to begin with.  PBS doesn't have to allow that but they do so I would never want to complain and rock that boat.

That's funny. I am looking to buy a few credits when a  decent deal comes up and haven't seen any the last few days.

Edited to add, just after posting this I found someone selling credits:)

I like the idea. Maybe they can put a sticky at the top of the page for it. I will scroll through looking for book deals & credit sales, but it would be a lot simpler for the credit selling to stay under one thread (and if everybody keeps it updated, we will have an easier time figuring out who still has credits for sale). :)

Well, if you go to the top of the Book Bazaar forum, there is a search all forums thing, i think if you typed in something about credits it would probably pull it up. although i wouldn't mind a special thread just for buying credits.....

There used to be a thread here.  It was a reoccurring one.  You could set one up and do a yearly one or monthly one, you'd need to keep redirecting people through out though it would be a lot of work.  Here is how it used to be done. http://www.paperbackswap.com/2010-Selling-Credits-Looking-Buy/topic/191425/  I could have sworn there was a more recent one but I couldn't remember what it was called.  I just remembered the name of this one.

I think it kept getting bogged down though when activity was high and people ended up not liking it that way.  It wouldn't hurt to try again though.  But I see more deals out there then credits right now!

Also I'm just saying the credits sellers could say that to cut down on buildup there could be a reoccurring deal thread too so just remember that because you come here for deals others might come here just for the credits.  This one goes both ways!  I don't have a pony in either race though sometimes I come for one thing, sometimes the other.  I don't find it hard to wade through one or the other to find what I'm looking for.  And if your looking for a certain kind of deal you could always start your own thread asking for what you want too!
