I have searched this topic and not sure of the answer yet. Can anyone tell me if I find a book I like should I put ALL versions (paperbacks, hardcovers ) on my wish list?  If I pick a hardcover and then a paperback version becomes available do I get that notice first? Or not at all -Only the hardcover one?  Sorry to be so needy!

I usually put all the versions on my WL, since you don't know which will come up first. Even if one has more wishers, it could still come up faster if more people have and post it. You will get a notice when you are #1 on the list and someone posts that exact ISBN/format - so if you put both hardcover and pb on the list, and pb posts first, that's the notice you'll receive. If you don't want a particular format (HC or audio or large print or whatever), don't put it on your list!!

I'm sure someone will post here about how the multiple versions thing works - I used to get a pop up that would say something about my having other versions on the list, and did I want to leave them or remove them, but I don't seem to get that now - so I wait until I've actually received the book before I remove the others from my WL, just in case...

You will only get WLoffers for the version you have on your list. So put every version you wouldn't mind getting. Then delete the others when you get one.

Oh yes don't delete them until you get the book that's enroute.  I've even put my account on hold before to prevent having to accept 2 versions or decline the 2nd and lose my place in line.

I had multiple versions of a book on my WL and just now got a WL offer for 2 different versions at the same time!  I accepted one and cancelled the other, then removed the other versions from my list right away.  I wonder how often that happens? lol

ETA:  I'm always on here and had just gone to lunch, so I know I got both offers within 45 minutes of eachother.

If I pick a hardcover and then a paperback version becomes available do I get that notice first? If you go to "My Account" at the top of the page and then click on "Settings"  you can choose to be notified when a similar version is posted.  This may only work if that other version is not WLed by other members.

I also put multiple ISDNs on my wish list since I don't care if it is hardcover or paperback.  This makes a BIG difference in how fast you will get your wishlist books.  You cant judge by how many are waiting since some wishlists move fast ...

Under settings is the option to get the emails about different versions of the book.  It does not always work.  If the book was entered with any variation in the name (middle name vs initial) then the system does not seem to connect the two versions.  And you are not offered books that are WLed, only the non WL versions will trigger the emails.  If you are waiting for audio books or Large print, you will need to turn off the email option.

I had a mmpb on my WL and got a notification that a hardcover was available.  I had the option of acctptin gor not.  I have a difficult time holding hardcover so don't order them, wouldn't WL them.

I do have my account set to be notified if a similar version is offered.  I.
