I thought it was 48 hours.

I posted a book on 1/7/2008 at 8:15 PM ET.  There was only 1 person on the wishlist for it and it went into the 48-hour hold.

Now it is 11:09 AM, 1/10/2008 and my account says

Reserved On: 1/9/08 9:00 PM ET
Status: Waiting 48 hours for other member to confirm that they still want this book.

??????

I mean I looked that book up and there were 0 members wishing for it while it was on the first hold.

Someone added it to their wish list after you posted it and before the first person's wish timed out?

When you post a book it appears in the daily digest. Maybe it caught the eye of someone who subscribes to that and they decided they'd like it too.

Thanks, Cathy.  I suppose that's a possibility.

And they didn't expect it to show up immediately and now they probably don't have credits, lol, because that's how my life goes.  (I know....it's too early to tell if that's what happened.  I just thought it was still on hold #1 which was weird.)

That's what's annoying about digest though.  Everything interesting is gone and I'm never all that sure if I really want it.  I'm going to stop getting it.   Thanks again.

I've had that happen to me -- and it was exactly what Cathy said.  That person ended up accepting, so hopefully it will work out in your case too!

Actually what I think happened is when you looked and saw 1 person wishing that was in fact one person PLUS the person who was waiting for your book because technically they aren't really wishing anymore for a book to be posted, just waiting to get it.  When you see 0 people wishing that means the last person in line has been notified that their book has been posted.  In each of those cases, those folks could end up back in line.

The only time there is absolutely no one waiting is when there is no notation about members wishing.  I figured it out when when I tried to get a book I saw in the daily digest, it said 0 wishing but when I "ordered" the book I got on the WL as 1 of 1.

Thanks for the answers!  Yes, it was accepted (and I've printed the label).

Tammy,

Actually when I looked it said 0, never 1.  I just knew it was on hold at that point.  However you are right because when another one bailed out on me after accepting, it then showed nothing instead of 0.  Always learning here...  I only posted about 4 or 5 books, not dozens!
