I found this book to be fascinating. I am a former member of the Mormon church and watched went on with Warren Jeffs with interest. We were living in San Angelo, Texas at the time and my husband, as a medical provider and military officer had some dealings with some of the people from the compound in El Dorado. San Angelo was inundated with displaced people who the community did their best to help. Until I read this book, I had no idea how twisted the whole thing was. You can't get much better information than from someone who lived it.

This is a compelling, true account of one FLDS member who finally escaped from this Mormon Polygamist group. The fascinating thing about it for me was that I lived right in Salt Lake City where all of this was going on, but I don't remember there being allot of news on the trial, etc. I lived in SLC for over 35 years, and in that time I can say I saw quite a few of the Polygamist families walking around the city. They mostly lived at the South end of the SL Valley. The SL Police did not bother them, which I thought was very strange. I was born and raised in Los Angles, and so I never had any contact with Mormons, until I moved to Utah. If you want to find out what the FLDS group was really like, read this account. I could not put it down.

Another excellent book on the ongoing saga of the polygamous communities in Utah and Arizona. This book goes into more detail about some of the practices and is related to other books on the subject, i.e. Lost Boys by Brent Jeffs and Escape by Carolyn Jessop and the book by her sister Elissa Wall.

This is an interesting story of a polygamous wife whom left the FLDS.

I feels as if thought she made a mistake to leave her husband and kids to testify at polygamous trials and to be an international speaker. In My life God is first and my family second. Anything else comes after not ever before.

Read and decide for yourself.
