This is the 3rd book in the Seattle detective Lou Boldt/police Forensic Psychologist Daphne Matthews series (it falls between "Angel Maker" and "Beyond Recognition" - both posted/w reviews). The really "neat" thing about Ridley Pearson's books is that they DO NOT have to be read/kistened to in sequence! Each novel stands by itself (Like how often do you get a chance to get an authors books in sequence? For me, it's NEVER! The plot for this book is rather chilling, if you think about it, a serial killer is on a revenge bing, and he is poisoninf food in stores, causing a lot of unsuspecting consumers to DIE. Think back - do you remember all the panic caused by the medicine tampering in drug stores? How would you know if someone has messed with your food? The plot is very believable - "buy some soup, take it home, steam off the label, drill a little hole in the seam of the can, inject some "bad stuff", solder the hole closed, sand it down, glue the label back on, and on your next trip to the store, slip it back on the shelf! Woooooo! Scary!!!! I think Pearson did an outstanding job with this book! The technical details of police procedures as well as the insights into the world of Forensic Psychology are really impressive! He did his homework on this book! Anyone who enjoys good mysteries, especially ones centered around realistic police work will find this book/audio well worth your credits! As you know, I hate to do comparisons, BUT, if you like Jonathan Kellerman, Patricia Cornwell, or Thomis Harris, this book will satisfy your requirements! Don't get me wrong - I'm NOT pimping this book - I really enjoyed it and I think you will too!Enjoy!
