Aileen McKenna has a past she can't remember. Working on her thesis of how mankind and wolf can co-exist, she takes a trip to Wolf Creek hoping to get a chance to study the wolf packs up close and personal. What she didn't count on was meeting Rhys Lindgren, the tall, dark, secretive stranger in the woods. They seem to have an invisible, but emotional connection that stuns them both.

Several bodies keep turning up dead, and the townfolk are scared. They believe its the work of the wolves. Aileen and Rhys work together trying to uncover the mystery, as they firmly believe that the wolves wouldn't hurt anyone unless coerced. Rhys seems to have a magical infinity with the wolves, and there is just something so familiar and right when he is with them. Aileen is not ready to believe what she thinks is happening. Werewolves do not exist. But if they do, could they be the murderer? The local gypsy lady believes she can help Aileen if and when she is ready to believe.

Aileen has a legacy left to her from her grandmother. She dreams of the future, and sometimes the past. But some of her past is missing. After she meets Rhys, they become closer and the dreams become more vivid and clear, showing her glimpses of her missing past. The pieces begin to fit together as they come closer to unraveling the mystery of whom the killer is and revealing one another's secrets.

This book surprised me. I was intrigued from page one. The characters were compelling, and the plot was well-twisted.
