A very slim little volume (just 59 pages)of simply told stories about real women of the west. Each tale is just a single page and is often little more than an excerpt from the woman's diary or letters. Most are charming or offer insight into what it was like to live in the "wild west" era.

By the way, I don't know why this book is categorized as a "children's book." It is not for children although the writing is not sophisticated or difficult.
