I stay away from the malls after Thanksgiving, can't handle the crowds.  Today was the first time since then that I've visited my favorite mall.  I'm wandering through when I see this huge banner about a used book store in the mall (it opened 11/27).  OMG, I am in heaven!  It's called the Book Off, extremely well organized and very well stocked.  And . . . they have a historical fiction section - do you believe it?  The prices were good - a $5, $3.50 and $1.  The $5 were like new hardbacks and trade size.  I got a copy of Forever Amber for $5 - I almost paid $20 for it last week at Borders.  They are a tad confused on what constitutes fiction, but I can forgive them for that.  I'm going to print out my WL and reminder list and go back next week.

In the same mall Waldenbooks was going out of business and everything was 65% off of list.  There wasn't much left, but I did get 2 from my WL and they take Borders gift cards, which I had.

I live in Orange Cty, CA.  If you want to know where the UBS is send me a PM.

Yippee!  I am happy for you.  My USB in the nearest mall move, but now it is within walking distance of me!!!  It's a very nice walk too tree lined streets, I only have to cross 1 busy street.

Oh, that's fantastic! How fun to find a new UBB, and have it be a good one.

Where is Orange City, roughly? I was actually born in California, but don't know much about it since I my parents left when I was a few months old. We're moving to San Diego in a few months so I'm hoping we love it out there. Looks like we'll be there for about 4 years.

Used book stores are fun. I recently discovered one I had no idea existed in my little home town of Kent, WA. No HF section but they have quite a romance section and I suspect some of the books they classify as romance based upon the cover. Spotted one of MM Kaye's old historical mysteries in there. Lots of fun to paw through, all in alphabetical order by author.

Arika, Orange Cty is north of San Diego and south of  Los Angeles.  San Diego is nice, but like the rest of CA it is expensive.
